  • Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Kakizaki Yoshihiro formally receive and meet with the Ezo (Ainu) island chief.
  • Hideyoshi demands tribute from Korea. Tsushima suggests that Korea send a mission in congratulations for Hideyoshi's unification of Japan; the mission arrives in the 7th month.
