The Kôbusho was a bujutsu dojo established in 1856 by the Tokugawa shogunate to train shogunate retainers and their sons. The Kôbusho taught not only swordsmanship (Kenjutsu) but also Sôjutsu, gunnery (Hôjutsu), archery (Kyûjutsu), and Jujutsu.
In 1866, the Kôbusho was closed and the place became a Hôjutsu (gunnery) training school.

- Kyujutsu: Ogasawara Shôjirô.
- Jujutsu: Suzuki Seibei, Katayama Yahachirô.
- Hôjutsu: Tamura Kazue, Shimozone Kinzaburô, Egawa Tarôzaemon, Inoue Sadayu, Tatsuke Shirôbei, Takashima Shirôdayu, Katsu Kaishu, Nakayama Hatao, Sakakibara Kyojirô, Uemura Tatewaki, Iida Shôzô, Yamaguchi Uneme, Matsudaira Naka, Shimozone Jirôsuke, Yoshida Naojirô, Kimura Tarôzaemon.
