- 1563/2 Uesugi Norikatsu is defeated by Takeda Shingen and Hôjô Ujiyasu at Musashi-Matsuyama in Musashi province.
- 1563/10/29 Môri Motonari captures Shiraga castle (Izumo province) from the Amako clan.
- 1563/11/25 Tokugawa Ieyasu defeats the Ikkô-ikki of Mikawa.

- The butsuden of Taiheiji nunnery is moved to the site of Engakuji in Kamakura, and becomes the shariden of that temple.
- Ômura Sumitada is baptized, becoming the first daimyô to convert to Christianity.
- Seven wakô raiding parties, numbering over 1400 men in total, including 60 or so fishermen and the like and 200-300 Chinese, aboard 137 ships, attack Pinghai, near Fuzhou.
- Chinese military forces expel wakô from Fujian.
