  • Japanese: 弁ヶ嶽 (Bengatake)

Bengatake is a hill in Shuri, Okinawa, the highest point in the city (and today, the highest point anywhere in Naha). Atop the hill sits a sacred space (utaki) where kings of the Ryûkyû Kingdom would go to pray; a stone wall and gate around the utaki was erected in 1519.

Okinawa Shrine, relocated in the postwar period from Shuri castle, today sits atop the hill as well.
