- 1664/3/27 Bakufu Mizuno Jûrozaemon to commit seppuku.
- 1664/6/5 The shogunate officially recognizes the adoption of Uesugi Tsunanori, son of Kira Yoshinaka, into Uesugi clan to become daimyô of Yonezawa han. The domain is reduced by half, however.
- 1664/8/4 Farmers of a village in Kai province run away for heavy taxation.
- 1664/11/28 About 30 farmers in Saijô han get executed for refusing heavy taxation.
- 1664/12/7 Yagyû Munefuyu teaches kenjutsu to Shogun Ietsuna.
