Timeline of 1628
- 1628/4 Hamada Yahyôe, acting on orders from Nagasaki bugyô Suetsugu Heizô, attacks the Dutch fortress Casteel Zeelandia at Anping on Taiwan, and captures the Dutch governor, Pieter Nuyts and five others. Relations between Japan and the Dutch East India Company are severed; they are restored in 1632.
