The seventh son of King [[Sho Ko|Shô Kô]], and younger brother to King [[Sho Iku|Shô Iku]], he traveled to [[Edo]] in [[1850]] as the Lead Envoy (''seishi'') of the last [[Ryukyuan embassy to Edo]].
