Ma Gen'ei, also known by his title Tokashiki peechin and Ryukyuan-style name Shinfu, was a Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat who served as shisan on the 1748 Ryukyuan mission to Edo.
He developed a fever on 1749/1/8 while passing through Hamamatsu on the return journey from Edo, and died at Miya-juku (near Atsuta Shrine, Nagoya) a few days later, on 1/12. He was buried at the Zen temple of Kaikoku-ji nearby.
