Nagasaki Naval Training Center

The Nagasaki Naval Training Center was established by the Tokugawa shogunate in 1855 as a site for shogunate and domain retainers to study military science, navigation, medicine, and other subjects under Dutch instructors.

Sixteen individuals from Satsuma han, including Godai Tomoatsu, studied there.
