- Died: 1900
John Diack was an English engineer who played a significant role in the construction of Japan's first railroads.
Diack preceded Josiah Conder as an architecture teacher in Tokyo, and later worked under Edmund Morel, surveying the route from Shinbashi to Yokohama. His contract ended in 1876; after his death in 1900, Diack was buried at the Yokohama Foreign Cemetery.
