Utagawa Hiroshige II was a son-in-law of the famous ukiyo-e woodblock prints artist Utagawa Hiroshige, and became a successful ukiyo-e artist in his own right.
He came to be known as chabako Hiroshige, or "tea crate Hiroshige," for his woodblock print designs for the labels for crates of tea to be exported to the United States and elsewhere.[1]
One of his students inherited his name, becoming Utagawa Hiroshige III.
