- 1589/6/5 Date Masamune soundly defeats the Ashina clan at the battle of Suriage-ga-hara.
- 1589/8/28 Hideyoshi sends Sô Yoshitoshi of Tsushima to Seoul.
- 1589/11/24 Toyotomi Hideyoshi orders preperations to be made for a campaign against the Hôjô.
