Suwaraya Ichibei was a publisher based at Nihonbashi, Kitamuro-chô sanchôme, in Edo. Originally associated with Suwaraya Mohei, he split off to begin his own operation, and published Hayashi Shihei's 1785 Sangoku tsûran zusetsu, and Morishima Chûryô's 1790 Ryûkyû-banashi.
