Li Bai, as depicted by Southern Song Dynasty painter Liang Kai. Tokyo National Museum.
  • Chinese/Japanese: (Liáng Kǎi / Ryoukai)

Liang Kai was a member of the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Painting Academy, holding the rank of daizhao (attendant-in-waiting).

Active in the 13th century, he is known especially for a portrait of Li Bai today in the collection of the Tokyo National Museum. A document asserting the authorship and authenticity of this painting was drafted by Kanô Tsunenobu in 1707, who also inscribed the title and artist's name on a box the scroll is still associated with today.
