- 1590/3 Toyotomi troops begin invading the Kantô.
- 1590/4 Toyotomi Hideyoshi lays siege to the Hôjô family at Odawara castle (Sagami province), employing over 200,000 troops in the effort.
- 1590/7/11 Odawara capitulates; Hôjô Ujimasa commits suicide.
- 1590/8/1 Tokugawa Ieyasu arrives at Edo castle, his new headquarters. The Tokugawa clan is completely relocated to the Kantô over the course of the next twelve months.
