  • The Chinese Board of Rites suggests that Ryukyuan investiture take place by proxy in Fuzhou, to spare China the effort of sending investiture envoys to Ryûkyû; Ryûkyû insists, however, and an embassy is dispatched to Ryûkyû, maintaining the traditional pattern of investiture.
