  • Built: 1788
  • Japanese: 三国丸 (Sangoku maru)

The Sangoku Maru was a ship built in 1788 at the request of Tanuma Okitsugu. Its construction combined Chinese, Japanese, and Dutch shipbuilding styles and technologies, hence the name "three countries" (sangoku). The Sangoku Maru sailed between Ezo (Hokkaidô) and Nagasaki carrying marine products and other goods.
