Sansue was the second son of [[Ando Yoshisue]] based in [[Mutsu province]]. He defeated the [[Onodera clan|Onodera]] in battle in [[1588]] and clashed with the [[Nanbu clan|Nanbu family]]. He sided with [[Tokugawa Ieyasu]] during the [[Sekigahara Campaign]] ([[1600]]) but was unable to assist in the field due to an illness.
