Nakayama Aiko was the wife of ''[[kugyo|kugyô]]'' (court noble) [[Nakayama Tadayasu]] and a grandmother to [[Emperor Meiji]].
The 11th daughter of [[Matsura Seizan]], lord of [[Hirado han]], she was married to ''kugyô'' Nakayama Tadayasu. Their daughter [[Nakayama Yoshiko]] then became a concubine to [[Emperor Komei|Emperor Kômei]]; their son succeeded Kômei to become the [[Meiji Emperor]].
