The temple grounds include the grave of ''[[haikai]]'' poet [[Kurita Chodo|Kurita Chodô]]. The temple is also the location of a number of gravestones said to be among the oldest [[burial practices|turtle-shaped gravestones]] in Japan that are not marking ''daimyô'' graves.
