Jo Seokjin, also known by the [[art-name]] Sorim, was one of the last court painters of the [[Joseon]] royal court.
He spent a year in China in the 1880s, during which he studied [[Qing dynasty|Qing]] painting styles. He also experimented with Western-style painting techniques.
