Xǔ Yíhòu was a Chinese physician from Fujian province who served for a time as the personal physician to Shimazu Yoshihisa in the 1590s. Entrusted by Yoshihisa with maintaining contacts with Fujian officials so that Yoshihisa might hopefully be able to enter into formal trade relations at some point in the future, Xǔ (along with another Fujianese member of Yoshihisa's court, Guō Guóān) secretly conveyed information about Toyotomi Hideyoshi's plans to invade Korea to those Fujian officials, who in turn informed Beijing.
