Gideon Tant was the ''opperhoofd'', or head, of the [[Dutch East India Company]] factory (or, base) in the Siamese capital of [[Ayutthaya]] circa [[1703]].

Gideon Tant was the ''opperhoofd'', or head, of the [[Dutch East India Company]] factory (or, base) at [[Dejima]], in [[Nagasaki]], from [[1703]] to [[1704]].

 

Immediately prior to his assignment to Dejima, he had served as ''opperhoofd'' in the Siamese royal capital of [[Ayutthaya]], where he was succeeded by his deputy [[Arnout Cleur]].
