Kochinda Chôshun was the fifth son of King [[Sho Shitsu|Shô Shitsu]] of the [[Ryukyu Kingdom|Ryûkyû Kingdom]], and was the first head of the ''keizuza'', established in [[1689]] to oversee official aristocratic genealogies (''[[kafu]]'' or ''keizu'') in the kingdom.
