*''Japanese'': 高所 ''(takajo)''
''Takajo'' were a type of government office in the [[Ryukyu Kingdom|Ryûkyû Kingdom]] which oversaw assessments of newly reclaimed land, and of cargoes brought to Ryûkyû on Chinese ships. As new land was brought under cultivation, agents of the ''takajo'' surveyed the land to determine its production (''[[kokudaka]]''), in order to adjust tax obligations.
