Takanabe han was a 27,000 ''[[koku]]'' [[han|domain]] ruled by the [[Akizuki clan]] and based at [[Takanabe castle]] in [[Hyuga province|Hyûga province]].
The Akizuki were assigned to the Yanagi-no-ma in [[Edo castle]].
[[Akizuki Tanemi]] was among the lords of Takanabe. His second son was adopted into the [[Uesugi clan]] in [[1760]], and went on to become [[Uesugi Harunori]].
