A branch shrine of the Great Izumo Shrine (''[[Izumo Taisha]]'') in [[Shimane prefecture]] was established in Honolulu in [[1906]] by Katsura Miyaô.
Originally located on Beretania Street, it was later moved to its current location near the Nu'uanu Stream.
