Tani Jinzan was a [[Confucianism|Confucian scholar]] in the service of [[Tosa han]]. A student of [[Yamazaki Ansai]] and [[Shibukawa Shunkai]], he is known for his expertise at [[Japanese calendar|calendrics]], and the Suika sect of [[Shinto]]. Jinzan's works include the ''Shindai kan'endo den''.
