Hokuzan was one of three kingdoms which controlled [[Okinawa]] in the [[14th century]]. Based at [[Nakijin]], on the Motobu Peninsula, it controlled the northern part of the island, its neighbors [[Chuzan|Chûzan]] and [[Nanzan]] controlling the central and southern regions respectively.
