Nobusuke was the son of [[Konoe Sakihisa|Konôe Sakihisa]]. He was named the Saidaijin and when he learned that [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]] planned to name himself various noted ranks, pointed out that he would require [[Fujiwara clan|Fujiwara]] blood to do as he wished - to which Hideyoshi replied by being adopted by Sakihisa (becoming Nobusuke's elder brother in the process). Nobusuke angered Hideyoshi by being too eager to join the [[Korean Invasions]] and was exiled to [[Satsuma province]] in [[1594]] for two years. He was later allowed to return and was named [[Kampaku]] in 1605 and adopted as heir as son of Emperor [[Go-Yozei|Go-Yôzei]]. He was a noted man of culture and especially of prose. He was known as Konôe Nobutada after 1602.
