Ancient Japanese province on Honshu bordering the Inland Sea. At the time of the [[Taika Reform]] ([[645]])) it was divided into three provinces, [[Bizen province]], [[Bitchu province|Bitchû province]], and [[Bingo province]], i.e., front, middle, and back Bi. In [[713]] Bizen was further divided into Bizen province and [[Mimasaka province]].
