Kushima Masanari was the lord of Takatenjin castle in the Kito district of [[Totomi province]], and was a vassal of [[Hojo Ujichika|Hôjô Ujichika]]. He was defeated and by [[Takeda Nobutora|Takeda Nobutora's]] army in 1521 but whether he died on this occasion or in a battle in June of [[1536]] is a matter of debate among scholars. His son was adopted by [[Hojo Ujitsuna|Hôjô Ujitsuna]].
