Inoue Masamine served as a member of the rôjû from 1705 to 1722.

Though Inoue suffered from chronic illness in 1722, Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune declined to grant his requests for permission to retire as rôjû; as a result, Inoue died on 1722/5/17 while still actively holding that post.[1]
