Ba Ryosai

Tanabaru ueekata Ba Ryôsai was a Ryukyuan scholar-official who served as fuseikan in interactions with Americans and Europeans in the 1850s. Along with sôrikan Kin aji (Shô Kôkun), he was one of two Ryukyuan officials to sign the 1854 Treaty of Amity (Ryukyu-US) between Ryûkyû and the United States.[1]
