Sakaino Ryôun was a Kumamoto han retainer.

He is known for reviving the tradition of dog-hunting, alongside Saitô Shizan, and came to serve as a hunting teacher. He was appointed machi-bugyô (town magistrate) of Kawajiri in 1798, with a stipend of 350 koku.
