Kushi Ansho

Kushi peechin Anshô, also known by his Chinese-style name Kin Kôyû, was a Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat who traveled to Japan on several official missions. He served as a musician (gakushi) on the 1796 Ryukyuan embassy to Edo, and on the next mission, in 1806, he served as sangikan, advising the Lead and Deputy Envoys, and helping oversee the execution of various practical logistical aspects of the mission.
