Hendrik Doeff was a scholar resident at Dejima from 1799 to 1817. He had two children by Japanese courtesans: a daughter named Omon, whose mother was Sono'o of the Hiketa-ya, and a son named Jôkichi, whose mother was Uryûno of the Miyako-ya.
