Ezo shi is a work by Arai Hakuseki, describing the geography of Ezo (the areas to the north of Japan, including Hokkaidô, Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands) and the culture of the Ainu people. Completed in 1720, it was based on works by Chinese writers, and on official records from Matsumae han.
