Gi Shôji was a Ryukyuan scholar-aristocrat who served on at least one Ryukyuan tribute mission to China, alongside his father, Gi Gakugen (in 1840), and who also served as a musician (gakushi) on the 1850 Ryukyuan mission to Edo.
