Timeline of 1675
- 1675/11/25 A fire ravages Kyoto, destroying over 2,600 homes and killing at least 100 people. The Konoe family mansion and 66 other imperial and noble residences are destroyed, along with 21 temples. The shogunate granted 2000 ryô to each of a number of court noble families to help rebuild their residences; the Konoe family mansion was rebuilt within 13 months, while most of the commoners of the city had considerably more difficulties in recovering from the fire.

- Ichikawa Ebizô I takes the name Ichikawa Danjûrô, becoming the first of that lineage of actors.
- Uji Kaganojô opens a new theatre in Kyoto, where he introduces many groundbreaking innovations into the puppet theatre.
