  • Japanese: 島津忠剛 (Shimazu Tadatake)

Shimazu Tadatake is known as the father of the famous Atsuhime. The grandson of Chima no kata, concubine to Shimazu Shigehide, he was adopted into the Imaizumi Shimazu house, and succeeded his adoptive father to become the head of the family. He then married a relative of that family, with whom he had a daughter, Atsuhime, who would go on to marry Shogun Tokugawa Iesada.
