The graves of Shôni Sukeyoshi and his father Mutô Sukeyori, in Dazaifu
  • Birth: 1198
  • Death: 1281/8/28
  • Other Names: 武藤資能 (Mutou Sukeyoshi)
  • Japanese: 少弐資能 (Shouni Sukeyoshi)

Shôni Sukeyoshi was the son of Mutô Sukeyori, and served as Dazaifu shôni, and as shugo of Chikuzen, Buzen, Hizen, Tsushima, and Iki provinces.

After he was appointed Dazaifu shôni, Sukeyoshi took the name Shôni as his family name. As the chief of the Kamakura shogunate's Dazaifu office, he played a role in receiving Mongol envoys, and in organizing the defense against the 1274 Mongol invasions, alongside Ôtomo Yoriyasu. He received a fatal wound, however, during the 1281 Mongol invasions, and was buried in Dazaifu alongside his father.
