Jump to navigationJump to searchYamano Yasohachi joined the shinsengumi in 1863 with Shimada Kai and Ogata Shuntaro. It seemed he left the Shinsengumi in Hakodate before surrendered. After the Meiji Restoration, he worked as a janitor for an elementary school and retired in 1896. He had a daughter who was born right before the Battle of Toba-Fushimi. She was then a popular Geisha in Gion. She took care of her father until his death.
