Ito Jinsai

Itô Jinsai was a prominent Confucian scholar of the Edo period. Though initially a devotee of the Zhu Xi Neo-Confucianist school of thought, he later turned to advocating a greater focus on the original Confucian teachings of Confucius and Mencius themselves.
