• First Chinese investiture envoys, led by Shi Zhong, come to Chûzan.
• The first kangô bôeki mission sponsored by the Ashikaga shogunate departs for and arrives in China.
• The Ashikaga shogunate also sends an official mission to Joseon Dynasty Korea, the first to be formally representative of the "King of Japan."
• A Thai merchant ship arrives in Chûzan and is received to engage in trade, after being blown off-course and receiving repairs in Fujian province.
