Urakami Gyokudô was an Edo period literati painter.

Born to a samurai family in Okayama, Gyokudô was educated in the Confucian classics and received training in painting, calligraphy, qin music, and other classic skills of the Confucian gentleman.

At age fifty, he retired from official service and pursued the life of a literatus, dedicating himself to the arts, travel, and reclusion. He eventually settled in Kyoto.

Gyokudô's son Urakami Shunkin was also a notable painter.
