Kin Yûka was a [[scholar-aristocracy of Ryukyu|Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat]], who served as a musician (''gakushi'') on the [[1764]] [[Ryukyuan embassy to Edo]].

He also previously, beginning in [[1760]], led the training of pages (''koshô'') who were responsible for playing music, performing dances, and participating otherwise in a variety of court ceremonies.

In conjunction with being named to the 1764 mission, Kin was conferred the privilege of wearing a yellow [[hachimaki|court cap]].
