Kin Dai was a Ryukyuan scholar-aristocrat who was named instructor to the musicians attached to the shoin ("study") of Shuri castle in 1721, at the age of 21, alongside Tei Kokukô and Tei Shishaku. He served in this position for only about one month, however.
