Tôshô-ji was the family temple of the Hôjô clan in Kamakura.

It was established in the early 14th century by Hôjô Takatoki, but was destroyed in the 1333 siege of Kamakura.

The temple was rebuilt soon afterwards, and is said to have become third among the top ten temples in the Kantô. But a new temple, Hôkai-ji, was built to be the Hôjô clan's family temple. Sometime in the Sengoku period, the rebuilt Tôshô-ji was abandoned and allowed to fall into ruin. The site is today fenced off, as a historical/archaeological site.
