Bengatake is a hill in [[Shuri]], [[Okinawa Island|Okinawa]], the highest point in the city (and today, the highest point anywhere in [[Naha]]). Atop the hill sits a sacred space (''[[utaki]]'') where kings of the [[Ryukyu Kingdom|Ryûkyû Kingdom]] would go to pray; a stone wall and gate around the ''utaki'' was erected in [[1519]].
[[Okinawa Shrine]], relocated in the postwar period from [[Shuri castle]], today sits atop the hill as well.
